Likewise, in line with the entity's commitment to a just ecological transition, these awards will also positively value, although not exclusively, social projects that take into account initiatives that favor a just ecological transition, such as the promotion of renewable energies, energy efficiency, sustainable mobility, protection of biodiversity, the fight against climate change, ecological transition or circular economy, among other aspects.
In this edition, Fundación Cepsa will allocate up to 435,000 euros among the winning projects of social entities in the Community of Madrid, Campo de Gibraltar, Huelva, the Canary Islands, Portugal and Colombia, geographical areas in which Cepsa and its foundation have a relevant activity and in which they have established strong ties and relationships with the community.
Cristina Ortiz, director of Fundación Cepsa, emphasized: "Through these awards, we have been recognizing for almost two decades the work and efforts of numerous organizations dedicated to generating a positive impact on the most underprivileged groups. Furthermore, from Fundación Cepsa, in line with the Positive Motion strategy, we want to contribute to a greener, fairer and more sustainable society for all, promoting projects that favor a just and inclusive ecological transition for the whole of society".
Interested entities may submit their projects from September 7 to 28 via Fundación Cepsa’s website: www.fundacioncepsa.com. Subsequently, once the information from all the candidates has been analyzed, different local juries, in which institutional representatives linked to social action participate, will determine the winners in each area and choose the candidates for the Special Employee Award. Cepsa professionals will choose five more winning projects from among the latter, in addition to getting involved with the participating entities by acting as solidarity sponsors of all the initiatives that are registered.
Since it was first held in 2005, these awards have handed out more than four million euros to promote 462 social initiatives that have improved the quality of life of more than 73,000 people.
