Our goal is to lead the production of green hydrogen in Spain and Portugal through the development of the Andalusian Green Hydrogen Valley. This ambitious project, one of the largest in Europe, is based on creating an ecosystem of alliances to drive the production of renewable hydrogen and its derivatives, green ammonia and methanol. All of this with the ultimate goal of contributing to the decarbonization of the industry and heavy land, air, and sea transportation, thanks to green molecules.
In total, the Valley will involve an associated investment of over 3 billion euros and includes the development of a 2GW electrolysis capacity for the production of 300,000 tons of green hydrogen annually, as well as the construction of Europe's largest green ammonia and methanol plants. All of this will be centered around our Energy Parks in Palos de la Frontera (Huelva) and San Roque (Cádiz).

The European Commission has recognized the Andalusian Green Hydrogen Valley as one of the Projects of Common Interest (PCI) for the Union, not only for Spain but for the entire European Union. This recognition represents a significant institutional endorsement and opens the doors to apply for public grants and subsidies aimed at promoting renewable energies.
Furthermore, the Andalusian Green Hydrogen Valley has been included in the Hydrogen Valley platform, a global collaboration tool aimed at analyzing the largest large-scale hydrogen projects. The goal is to facilitate the energy transition and promote integrated projects along the hydrogen value chain.
Due to its strategic location, Andalusia possesses all the conditions to become one of the most competitive places in the world for hydrogen production. This grants it a unique opportunity to be a leader in the energy transition, not only in Spain but also internationally. The region boasts available land, abundant sunlight and wind, a robust and widespread electrical grid, and top-notch port infrastructure.
All of this, along with the established ecosystem of alliances, makes the Andalusian Valley a unique project. Its production of green hydrogen will significantly contribute to decarbonizing industrial activity and the heavy transportation sector, both in Spain and for export to the rest of Europe. This will contribute to the energy independence and supply security of the continent.
To drive the development of the Valley and the entire hydrogen value chain, we’ve established strategic partnerships with local, national, and international partners.

Moeve receives €303.75 million from PERTE ERHA for the development of the first phase of the Andalusian Green Hydrogen Valley. Known as Onuba, the first phase of the project will be financed by the European Union's NextGeneration EU funds and involves the construction of a green hydrogen plant with an electrolysis capacity of 405 MW in Palos de la Frontera (Huelva). During the construction of the industrial complex, the company will generate around 10,000 jobs, including direct, indirect, and induced jobs.
