Shutdowns are performed periodically for maintenance, improvement and inspection tasks, in addition to implementing environmental protection and safety improvement projects. The planning and coordination of the departments involved in a shutdown is fundamental. This innovative digital application, which has been developed by Cepsa professionals from the Huelva industrial center, will allow all the actors involved to see, one day in advance, the planning for the following day. In order to know, on the following day, the tasks that can be carried out at the same time, and the defined circulation areas.
Jorge Acitores, director of La Rábida Energy Park, emphasized that "this is the result of years of experience and testing, and of putting to work as a team, in a coordinated manner, colleagues from here, from Huelva, with very different knowledge and skills, who every day show us their high capacity for innovation, continuous improvement and commitment to safety. We now centralize the work of everyone involved in these complex shutdowns with a single tool, and most importantly, we can see what is going to happen in the future as if it were already happening in front of our eyes, allowing us to correct inefficiencies before they occur."
Cepsa already presented this new shutdown management at the 2022 ERTC, "European Refining Technology Conference", held in Lago Maggiore (Italy), to great acclaim in the industry for being the first energy company in the world to implement this technology in its shutdowns. This has generated several visits to the facilities to see the power of our development, with Japanese, American and Dutch companies.
