- The energy company sets up a special logistic device to guarantee the supply of fuel to the seaplane located at the island's airport
The initiative, developed through its subsidiary Cepsa Aviación, is carried out in coordination with the General Directorate of Security and Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands, in order to guarantee the supply of fuel to the firefighting seaplane located at the airport on La Gomera at all times.
For this purpose, Cepsa provides an approved supply vehicle with 30,000 liters of kerosene and an operator to facilitate this operation in the event of a fire.
The initiative, which will remain active until October 19, also provides for the daily tasks of monitoring and supervising the terrain and ensures rapid intervention of emergency devices if necessary.
Elsewhere, Cepsa is prepared to meet the demand and to move the necessary personnel in the event of actions that require a greater volume of fuel than that stored on La Gomera.
With this action, Cepsa is committed to safety and the prevention of fires, which are one of the main dangers faced by the islands during the summer season. This is especially important in the case of La Gomera, where there is a large area of protected natural space.
This line of collaboration once again endorses Cepsa's commitment to safety, which extends to all aspects of its activity, both inside and outside its work centers.
Over the last decade in which Cepsa has offered this preventive device, different actions have been successfully implemented on La Gomera, ranging from rescues at sea to extinguishing forest fires and medical evacuations during the summer season, thus playing a decisive role in the successful resolution of emergency situations.
