- These projects, located in the Toledo municipalities of El Viso de San Juan, Seseña, Cobeja, Añover de Tajo and Borox, will involve an investment of more than 500 million euros and will generate close to 3,000 jobs during the phases of greatest activity
- Once in operation, these projects, which are already connected to the grid, will produce an estimated annual energy output of 1,700 GWh, equivalent to the consumption of more than half a million homes, and will avoid the emission of 675,000 tons of CO2 per year
- Coinciding with the start of the projects, Cepsa launches the “Sumamos Energías” program to promote the integration of these facilities with the local environment, involving citizens and promoting collaboration with the administrations, with the aim of generating a positive impact on these territories
- Among other initiatives, Cepsa will use this program to promote local sustainable development funds together with local councils to finance sustainable investments and actions aimed at job creation, training and environmental protection
The installation of these photovoltaic plants will involve an investment of more than 500 million euros and their construction is expected to generate more than 1,700 jobs, reaching nearly 3,000 jobs in the peak phases of their development.
Once in operation, these projects will produce an estimated annual energy output of 1,700 GWh, which is equivalent to the consumption of 510,000 households for a year, i.e., nearly two thirds of the domestic consumption of Castile-La Mancha. Furthermore, the production of this renewable energy will avoid the annual emission of 675,000 tons of CO2.
These projects will be located in the Toledo municipalities of El Viso de San Juan, Seseña, Cobeja, Añover de Tajo and Borox, with which Cepsa has been working since the initial phase of their development with the aim that these renewable facilities become an opportunity for the development of the local communities in which they will be installed and thus generate a positive impact on these territories.
To guarantee the integration of these projects in the local environment, Cepsa has created the “Sumamos Energías” program, whose objective is to encourage the participation of the different social agents, involving citizens and promoting collaboration with public administrations. Through this program, Cepsa will work hand in hand with all local councils that want to join in the design and implementation of actions that generate value and promote socioeconomic development and the natural capital of their municipality.
“Sumamos Energías” is a differential program, based on co-design and transparent and proactive dialogue, which seeks to create a tractor effect in the territory and maximum social and environmental integration. Each of these lines of action involves a series of initiatives linked to the nature of the projects and adapted to the needs of each locality and its neighbors.
One of these initiatives is the creation of a local sustainable development fund set up and managed by the municipalities to finance sustainable investments and actions aimed at job creation, training and environmental protection in the municipality
