Ángel Corcóstegui Guraya holds a Ph.D. in Finance and an MBA from The Wharton Business School (USA) and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Santander, Spain. He has participated as a Founder Investor in Magnum Capital, the largest private equity firm exclusively devoted to Spain & Portugal. Previously, he served as First Vice Chairman and CEO of Banco Santander Central Hispano, currently Banco Santander, from 1994 to 2002. From 1987 to 1994, he was a Board Member and General Manager of Banco Bilbao Vizcaya (BBV). He has also held positions as Senior Economist at Chase Econometrics for Chase Manhattan Bank (USA) and Financial Analyst at the World Bank in Washington D.C. (USA).
Additionally, Corcóstegui is a member of the Board of Governors of The Lauder Institute for Management & International Studies of the Wharton Business School (University of Pennsylvania, USA) and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the “Fundación Agustín de Betancourt”, a private cultural foundation of the Higher Technical School of Civil Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
From 1995 to 2002, he was a member, and subsequently Vice Chairman, of Cepsa's Board of Directors and Executive Committee, representing one of its core shareholders at that time, Banco Santander Central Hispano.
