Yayo Cortés and her son Álvaro, an 18-year-old boy with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), will talk about the importance for his family of knowing the diagnosis and starting with it to start building a new future for Álvaro.

Meet Yayo Cortés

Yayo Cortés is a member of the Corporate Office team, serving as Executive Assistant to the CFO, CHRO, and EVP Mobility & New Commerce since February 2023. She studied Executive Secretarial Management at Mary Ward College (1989-1991). Upon completion of her studies, she began working as a management secretary at Canal+, BT Telecomunicaciones and Kontron Medical. She joined Cepsa in the late 1990s as Executive Assistant to the Exploration and Production Director.
In 2008, following the international expansion of the Exploration & Production business, her position evolved to that of Executive Assistant to the CEO, a position she held until 2020.

"It was a bit of a shock when we were told that Alvaro had ASD. I said to the psychiatrist, "What is that?" I didn't know what it meant".
