Working together with Redexis, our goal is to install solar panels at all Cepsa service stations in
Spain and Portugal.
We currently have panels at 200 service stations, and the project is expected to be completed
in 2023, making Cepsa the first network of service stations to generate renewable energy in
Europe.
How did we do it?
To achieve our goal, we are using over 40,000 high-tech photovoltaic panels with a production
capacity of more than 32,800 MWh per year, equivalent to the annual energy consumption of
11,000 homes.
We are relying on our partner, Redexis, which is responsible for installation, commissioning and
maintenance of the panels. The two companies are working together to promote renewable
energies and are committed to taking care of the planet.
The result
These panels will be used to supply Cepsa's service stations during the day, while the surplus
will be fed into the distribution network, thus optimizing the overall energy efficiency of the
facilities and allowing 100% of the service station network to consume electricity from
renewable sources.
This action will prevent the annual emission of 11,500 tons of CO2, which is equivalent to
planting 6,000 trees, thus contributing to Sustainable Development Goals 7 (affordable and
clean energy) and 13 (climate action).
