Elimination of column E-5105 in line 2 fractionation project
We have modified our production process to manufacture phenol and acetone, with the goal of saving energy.
How is it did?
We have changed the scheme of Fractionation unit, the last stage of the process of manufacture of phenol and acetone. The functions did the distillation column E-5105, with a high energy consumption, they will be made now by the phenol purification reactor and the distillation column E-5106.
The result
- We get the products, phenol and acetone, with the same quality as before.
- We reduce the energy consumption in the production of phenol and acetone.
- We avoid the emission of CO2 to the atmosphere, to an estimated quantity of 7,000 ton/year.
