Meet Víctor Gutiérrez
Víctor Gutiérrez is a professional water polo player, with more than 20 years dedicated to the sport, 13 of those years in the elite category. He has played over 70 times for the Spanish national team. Víctor holds a double degree in Journalism and Audiovisual Communication and Master in Corporate Communication, Events and Protocol.
In 2016, he publicly shared his homosexuality becoming the first openly gay team-sport athlete in the history of Spain, breaking this taboo that existed in the sports world.
Since October 2021, he has held the position of Secretary of LGTBI Policies with the Spanish Socialist Workers Party (PSOE). During this time, he has traveled the country delivering lectures and training sessions on sports and affective/sexual diversity across various domains. Trained by the Community of Madrid as an educator in the field, he is a specialist in LGTBI inclusion.
