- Cepsa presents the Positive Motion 2030 Strategy to Jorge Paradela
At the meeting, the energy company's directors demonstrated how innovation and development at San Roque Energy Park have advanced, highlighting the park’s commitment to safety, sustainability, decarbonization, and Industry 4.0, which is included in the Positive Motion 2030 Strategy. This strategic plan involves a green transformation of Cepsa's activities, in which its industrial centers in Andalusia will serve as the backbone of the company's future by producing new renewable energies, such as green hydrogen and second-generation biofuels. In this way, the company will not only contribute to the decarbonization of its activity, but also accelerate the decarbonization of adjacent industries and other business sectors, such as aviation, transportation, tourism, and agriculture.
During the visit, the Regional Minister of Andalusia for Industrial Policy and Energy, Jorge Paradela, stressed that "There’s no question that Cepsa is one of the specific forces of the Andalusian economy. It was the largest company in Andalusia by turnover in 2021 and employs more than 2,800 professionals directly in the community. It is therefore particularly relevant that a company of this size is aligned with the initiatives proposed by the Regional Government of Andalusia for the future and growth of the industrial and energy sector.” He also mentioned the green revolution the Andalusian government has begun, which aims to position Andalusia as a leader in the energy transition in Spain and Europe. "The conditions found in our region are perfect for generating projects and thousands of jobs linked to sustainable energy," said Paradela, who pointed out that the involvement of private initiative is essential to achieving this objective. "The industry has shifted its mindset, as it is increasingly aware of and committed to the obligation to minimize the environmental impact of its activity," he said.
For his part, the general director of Energy Parks, Antonio Joyanes, after thanking the public representatives for their visit to the SREP and their support for Andalusian industry, stated that "our objective is to continue promoting social and economic development, in addition to ensuring Europe's energy independence, which is so important today. At Cepsa, our commitment to industrial development is based on the circular economy, renewable energies, and digitalization, in line with European and Spanish sustainability policies and objectives.”
