- 27 Dual Vocational Training students and university students are doing their internships at San Roque Energy Park
True to its commitment to education, Cepsa has welcomed these students from the region, giving them the opportunity to further their academic training and gain their first professional experience. The current Vocational Training students come from Campo de Gibraltar schools such as Getares, Torre Almirante, Virgen de la Esperanza, Castilla del Pino, Ventura Morón, Sierra Luna, and Mediterráneo. They are doing their training at the Energy Park as chemical plant operators and in Maintenance roles. Meanwhile, the two university students are studying Industrial Engineering and Chemical Engineering.
The HR Manager at the San Roque Energy Park, Juan Antonio Rodríguez, emphasized that "for the students, it's an opportunity to see firsthand how the work is done, the demands of the career they have chosen, and for our professionals to serve as examples. We’re confident that they’ll make the most of this opportunity. They also bring a fresh perspective and an exchange of ideas, and that’s always a good thing.”
It’s also worth noting that Cepsa and the Ministry of Education of the Andalusian Regional Government signed an agreement last year to promote training on green hydrogen, which falls within the framework of the training plan designed to spearhead education on the energy transition and renewable energies. The training plan has been designed to address the training needs of teachers, as identified by a working group of Andalusian educators specifically formed to outline the actions that the Ministry will undertake in the coming academic years. Likewise, specialized training in renewable hydrogen is considered essential in Andalusia.
