Benefits
SOLFUTURE is a multidisciplinary project in which photoactive materials (catalysts and electrodes) and photoreactors will be developed. Activities range from materials development to system scaling and life cycle analysis. The Cepsa Research Center is participating in the project together with Imdea Energía, ICIQ, ICMM-CSIC and PSA-CIEMAT. APRIA Systems, which will be responsible for scaling and building the photoreactors, is also taking part. The results of this project will contribute to the development of technologies that use sunlight to obtain H2 and ammonia, reducing the energy required to obtain these key energy vectors for the energy transition. In addition, these photocatalytic systems will represent a breakthrough in the conversion of CO2 into other products, contributing to decarbonization.
Financing
This project is funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation in the call for R&D+i projects in Strategic Lines for 2021.
